Most people around the world think Robin Williams committed suicide because he was depressed, but his wife Susan says that is not the reason, not at all.  Something else was going on with her husband and no one knew, not even him.

It is now being reported that Robin Williams had a condition called Lewy Body Dementia.  This was not discovered until after Williams' death.  Susan says this disease cause about 50 different symptoms in her husband, depression being only one and it was a very very small part of it all.

Lewy Body Dementia is a degenerative disease.  Along the same lines as Alzheimer's.  It causes a multitude of dysfunctions in the body including mental miscalculations, hallucinations and impaired motor function.

In the months leading up to Robin's death, Susan claims things started to get worse.  He was having anxiety attacks, which weren't normal for him, he had even bloodied his head on a door.

After Williams' autopsy, one of the doctors explained to Susan that her famous husband was well aware that he was losing his mind.  And no one could do anything about it, not him, not doctors.

If one looks deep to find a silver lining in all of this, Williams' death opened up discussions around the world, about depression.  From morning shows on radio and television, to magazines and health publications, his death created a onslaught of discussion, and that is a good thing.
