"Expected delays" can never be good news. But, that's what DOTD says we should be ready for when they begin repair work on Verot School Road. Here's the plan, according to a bulletin from DOTD:

Beginning Monday, January 30, 2012, intermittent lane closures will take place on Verot School Road (La 339), from Pinhook to the Lafayette Parish line, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., weather permitting. This work is necessary for patch and overlay work. The estimated completion date is March 2012.  While no detour is necessary for this work, motorists are advised to use an alternate route and avoid this section of roadway if possible due to expected delays. There will be a 12” wide restriction in place.

It'll be worth it when it's all done, though, right?
