You'd hear it all the time, 50% of all marriages fail.  I'm sure you've even reminded a family member or two of that yourself.  Well guess what?  That's not true anymore.  And it hasn't been since the '80s.

Divorce rates peaked in the '70s and '80s but numbers have gone down every decade since.

People who were married in the '90s are doing a much better job at staying that way according to the new data.  In fact, 70% of people who married in the '90s are still together.  And of those who were married in the 2000s, that number rises to 75%.

The research indicates that people are staying together longer now because couples live together before they get married and break up if things don't work out between them.  A trial run.  And it seems as though more couples these days are actually focused more on love and less on money.
