Remains Of Tropical Storm Kirk A Concern For The Gulf?

When tropical weather systems fall apart they don't fall apart like a teenage girl who has just been dissed on social media. No wait, maybe they do. Those weather systems and brokenhearted teens usually tend to take a few days to get their act back together and then they wreak havoc with a vengeance.

Let's hope what used to be known as Tropical Storm Kirk hasn't watched the movie Mean Girls recently because it looks as if Kirk may be back and could be poised to become a problem for the Caribbean Sea and maybe the Gulf of Mexico.

The National Hurricane Center is giving "used-to-be-Kirk" a 90% probability of becoming Tropical Storm Kirk once again. The forecast models for the system suggest the track of Kirk will move across the Windward Islands and into the Caribbean Sea over the next five days.

The models do diverge in their forecast solutions significantly through time so that track forecast for Kirk is iffy at best. So while there is no imminent threat from Kirk for any residents along the Gulf Coast there are several good reasons for you to check back with us over the weekend to see where this system will be centered and its projected forecast track for next week.
