RAYNE, La. (KPEL) -- With our unique southern Louisiana culture, it's not unusual that we get our share of unique crimes. But a theft in the city of Rayne may have taken things to a new level.

Police in Rayne say someone has been stealing from the same house for the last several months. The objects of the alleged thief's desire?

Roosters.

We're not kidding.

Police say at least nine of the feathery friends were stolen from a home on Olga Street. They include a red wing rooster, a brown or red rooster with a broken beak and a single eye, a dark rooster, a blue henny stag, a jaco stag, a blue henny, a blue straight comb stag, a speck cut rooster, a speckle stag, and a black stag.

The perpetrator was finally caught on a surveillance camera, so if you recognize him, call Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish at 789-TIPS.
