The "Wide Load" vehicle, along with its escorts, rolled into Lafayette this week with a piece of equipment headed to Cajun Field.

The piece, as I am told, is the top to the "Victory Tower", part of the renovations to Cajun Field.  As you can see in the video, the crew bringing it through town was quite capable of avoiding snags, using a bucket truck to lift traffic signals.

Shout out to the Louisiana State Police for providing escort, keeping the motorists and the delivery crew safe!

I just spoke with Jay Walker over at ESPN AM1420, and he told me that the "Victory Tower" will be placed on the south end of the newly renovated part of Cajun Field, betwixt the concession stand and the restrooms.  It will (eventually) house a bell and be really fancy and stuff, but this season it will only be used as a camera perch.

GEAUX CAJUNS!
