I love music, especially music that comes from the heart. Camille "Li'l" Bob embodied that. He was born in Arnaudville in 1937. His Band Li'l Bob & The Lollipops were a favorite on the South Louisiana music scene for decades. They recorded, and performed from the 1950s into the 21st century, and were elected to the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in 1992. Their 1960's hit "I Got Loaded" has been covered multiple times, and remains an Acadiana favorite. The first version of the song I heard was a cover by Robert Cray. They got the songwriter credit wrong on the CD label. It said "Bob Camille."  I met Bob & his band in 1989. They were performing at an LUS Public Power Day. I was doing a remote broadcast. It was a daytime performance. Li'l Bob told me they'd just gotten in at 2am after performing in Texas. He passed away Monday in Opelousas. Rest in peace, Li'l Bob.
