Are you concerned about public education?

Louisiana School Superintendent John White will kick off a series of forums to discuss the needs and opportunities for students under the new federal law.

The first meeting in the series will be held from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Lafayette Middle School on West University Avenue.

White is hoping to get input from students, educators and members of the community about what can be offered under the federal Every Student Succeeds Act or ESSA as it is also called.

White is hoping for feedback about what is working, what is not working and what educational opportunity might exist for students within the guidelines of the new Act.

The series of forums begins tomorrow in Lafayette and will conclude next Tuesday in New Orleans.
