WWL in New Orleans is reporting that the Coast Guard says a Hercules production platform in the Gulf experienced a blowout.

Dozens of workers have been evacuated from the platform.

44 workers were evacuated thanks to a passing Good Samaritan.

The Coast Guard says there are no injuries to report.

There are no reports of sheen or leakage following the blowout.

The platform is reportedly about 12 miles west and 40 miles south of Grand Isle.
