Last year's monumental changes made at the LHSAA Convention are still in place - for now.

On Thursday, principals in each classification voted to keep the split playoffs they put into place for their individual classes. A proposal would have allowed for classes to combine and make for fewer championship games, as opposed to the nine title games currently in place. LHSAA President Todd Guice had said that “4A and 5A ha(d) a good chance maybe to go back together,” calling it "a tossup," but the principals decided against that.

More votes are scheduled on Friday concerning this issue, including a proposal to split the playoffs between public and private schools for every sport, something which was rejected last year.
