According to the Wall Street Journal, President Obama will return 5% of his salary this year to stand in "solidarity" with furloughed federal employees because of the sequester.

President Obama's annual salary is $400,000, meaning that he will return approximately $1,700 per month.  Reports say that he will write a check each month to the US Treasury.

More than 70,000 federal employees were notified that their salaries will be affected by the budget cuts (sequester).

How do you feel about the President's gesture?  Enough? Keep in mind that his salary makes up just under half of his income, which is almost $800,000 per year.
