Former Louisiana Ragin' Cajun and current Chicago White Sox right-handed relief pitcher Danny Farquhar suffered a brain hemorrhage during a game Friday night.

Farquhar passed out in the dugout during the 6th inning of last night's contest against the Houston Astros. After awaking, he was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

After further testing at the hospital, the revealed cause of the hemorrhage was a ruptured aneurysm, the White Sox announced today in a statement.

Farquhar, 31, remains in stable, but critical condition in the neurosurgical ICU unit at Rush University Medical Center.

His teammates hung his #43 jersey in the bullpen today in a show of support, while some teammates wore his number and wrote his name on their hats.

Farquhar is a married father of 3, who played collegiately for Louisiana from 2005-2007, before being draft after his junior season in the 10th round by the Toronto Blue Jays.

His former head coach at Louisiana is asking everyone to join him in prayer for Danny.

Speaking to Tim Buckley of The Advertiser before UL's game on Saturday versus UALR, Robichaux said the following:

“Ever since my phone dinged late last night he’s been in our prayers. (We’ll) keep him in our hearts and get the fans praying, too,” the deeply religious Robichaux said.

“You know, one of the best doctors in the world is Christ — and if we can get as many people praying for him (as possible), that’s what we’re gonna do.”

PRAYERS UP FOR FARQUHAR FROM ROBE & CAJUNS

Danny's former college teammate, Oakland A's catcher Jonathan Lucroy, expressed the same.

Join us in praying for Farquhar and his family during this time.
