The gifted and talented 6th graders of Iberia parish are raising money for West End Park’s new playground equipment by selling student-designed T-shirts.The t-shirts are commemorating the Grand Opening of the new Joe Daigre Bridge in downtown New Iberia. You can join the fun walk, which is free and open to the public, starting at 9am Saturday, May 10, at New Iberia City Hall.

The walk will continue on Main Street and turn when it reaches Jefferson St. near the bridge. At the bridge,  there will be a brief ceremony, featuring Mayor Curry of New Iberia.

6th Grade student Kaley Mestayer sent us a note to ask that we share this information with you; hopefully, you'll be able to participate in the walk and/or purchase a t-shirt from one of the students to help fund the playground!
