The Lafayette Parish Master Gardeners annual fall plant sale is expanding this year. The bigger and better event will be called PlantFest and it will be the first event to be held at the Horse Farm. In addition to selling unique and interesting plants, they will be ‘farm to table’ food offerings, a farmer’s market, ‘unplugged’ musicians, nature-themed artisans, and children’s activities. Proceeds from PlantFest will fund many community programs including Habitat for Humanity landscaping, School Garden Initiative, Vermilionville Medicinal Garden, Ask-a-Master Gardener events and many other consumer horticulture programs. PlantFest will take place on September 15, 2012, 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
