When the Jefferson Airplane/Starship soared through the Rock 'n Roll stratosphere, my departed sister, Kathi & I were big fans. The last concert we saw together was the Starship. She remarked how thrilled she was to have seen Grace Slick sing "White Rabbit." My daughter's middle name is Grace. The lyrics to the Rock classic are a reference to Alice's adventures in Lewis Carroll's "Through the looking Glass, and What Alice Found There." The iconic song has been covered several times over the years, but no one came close to recapturing the magic, until now. Pink recorded a version for the soundtrack of the new movie "Alice Through the Looking Glass."  The composer & original singer likes it. Grace Slick called Pink's interpretation a "straight attack." She went on to tell the Wall Street Journal, "Pink sings with power, but it's something more. You sense that if she wanted to, she could open the throttle even more at any time. That coiled energy creates drama and catches the ear." For whatever my opinion's worth, I concur. kathi probably would, too. Here are Pink's recent performance on "Jimmy kimmel Live," and Grace's original 1967 performance...
