Piercing A Baby’s Ears, Cute Or Cruel?

Is piercing a baby's ears cute or cruel?  Parents are starting to talk.To pierce or not to pierce, that is the question.  Parents are blowing up social media in discussion.  Some parents feel piercing a baby’s ears and subjecting them to unnecessary pain is cruel.  But many parents say it's simply tradition and that the pain is minimal.

Still others claim ear piercing is a decision that should be left to the child once she’s old enough to make it herself.

What do you think?  Should girls, and also boys for that matter, be allowed to make the decision to pierce their ears when they get a certain age or is it OK for mom and dad to pierce them in the early years when just babies?
