PBS Reveals New Characters to Debut in Season Four of Downton Abbey
Downton Abbey is the story of an English family and their efforts to save their family estate. Sounds boring, until you start watching it. I’m totally hooked after watching Season 1 on a flight to and from Seattle this summer. When I got returned, I had to watch Seasons 2 and 3, and now I can’t wait for Season 4, which begins in January. According to PBS, the new season will bring new drama and new characters including:
Paul Giamatti as Cora’s maverick, playboy brother Harold.
Tom Cullenas Lord Gillingham, an old family friend of the Crawleys who visits the family as a guest for a house party.
Nigel Harman as Green, a valet.
Dame Harriet Walter as Lady Shackleton, an old friend of the Dowager.
Joanna David in a guest role as the Duchess of Yeovil.
Julian Ovenden as aristocrat Charles Blake.
Dame Kiri Te Kanawa as a guest who sings in the house.
Gary Carr as a jazz singer named Jack Ross.
Downton Abbey is a Carnival/Masterpiece Co-production. It is written and created by Julian Fellowes. Gareth Neame and Julian Fellowes are Executive Producers.
You can see and read more about some of the new characters here. Can’t wait until January 5, 2014!
