It always saddens me to see good, hard-working mom-and-pop stores have to go out of business.

The text on the Facebook post stated the following:

It is with heavy hearts that we let you know that after 27 years in business, Pat's Grocery will be closing its doors. To Our Loyal Customer's, we say "Thank You With All Our Hearts"....because of your LOYALTY we have attempted to continue our business philosophy of "being equally as loyal', however local service no longer carries the same meaning to all. Effective January 31st of this New Year, our doors will be closed. Again, thank you for all of the lasting friendships that were made throughout our 27 years in business. Thank you & God Bless!

I am a firm believer in shopping "local", and, judging by the comment in the announcement "local service no longer carries the same meaning to all" makes me think that another store is closing because of the national chains.

Thank you to the gang at Pat's for providing great service to Youngsville, and for giving back to the community.  Your generosity and pride in community are appreciated.
