In South Louisiana, two things seem to hand in hand with Easter: Crawfish and Gold Brick Eggs. Sure a lot of people eat fish sticks, ham and jelly beans, but crawfish and Elmer's are a part of nearly every Acadiana family's Good Friday or Easter menu.
After today's Blue Plate Special, Polk Salad Annie, I thought about an old Elvis Presley movie called 'King Creole' which was filmed partly in New Orleans. In the song, 'Crawfish,' Elvis is joined by Kitty White.
