Some changes to the residential waste collection schedule happen during Mardi Gras week. Customers who have regular Monday service with Allied Waste and the Recycling Foundation will receive their usual garbage and recycling service

The first weekend of parades is history and we are already ready for more! In case you forgot, the barricades are out and will be repositioned back into parade position on the streets on Thursday, February 16, 2012. Lafayette Police will close all streets on and around the parade route one hour before each parade begins.
It's a great weekend for a parade! Take the kids and watch everybody's favorite furry friends in the Krewe des Chiens Parade on Saturday, on the downtown route, beginning at 2pm. The huge, and hugely popular, Carencro parade rolls at 11am. Then the Krewe of Rio is Saturday

It’s early spring in Acadiana and for just about everyone, this means one thing; Mardi Gras. Soon the streets will be barricaded, the schools will be closed, and thousands of people from miles around will descend upon Lafayette to join in on all the food, festivities, and merriment that Mardi Gras in Lafayette has to offer.
