A few days ago we posted the video of WKBT news anchor Jennifer Livingston responding to a letter she received from a viewer criticizing her for her weight and the example she's setting for the youth in her community. The video and Livingston's story has sense gone viral, spurring thousands across the nation to come out in support of the bullied anchor. However, the story has since taken an interesting turn.

Despite overwhelming criticism for his harsh words, Kenneth W. Krause, the man responsible for the now infamous letter has not backed down from his words. Krause recently released the following statement,

Given this country's present epidemic of obesity and the many truly horrible diseases related thereto, and considering Jennifer Livingston's fortuitous position in the community, I hope she will finally take advantage of a rare and golden opportunity to influence the health and psychological well-being of Coulee Region children by transforming herself for all of her viewers to see over the next year, and, to that end, I would be absolutely pleased to offer Jennifer any advice or support she would be willing to accept.

What amazes me most about this story is that after being beaten down and criticized by the media and the public, this man still refuses to back down from his hurtful comments. Being a bit of a public figure in my own right I've received my share of critical letters and emails over the years, and in my experience the bully always ceases and desists when exposed on air. But for whatever reason this guy won't give up.

We'll keep you updated as to what happens next. Let's just hope at some point this guy gives up and lets his ridiculous comments go.
