Over 200 Citations Issued In Lafayette PD’s 4-Day School Zone Campaign

"Give the Kids a Brake." That's the message Lafayette Police are sending as students go back to school.

From August 12th August 15th, officers patrolling 15 school zones within the city of Lafayette issued over 200 citations. 186 citations were issued for speeding, 21 citation for other violations, 1 citation for no insurance and 1 parking citation.

In addition to being aware of speed limits in school zones, Lafayette Police urge you to pay attention to the crossing guards at the intersections.
