Parents really don't have the time to teach the basics anymore.

A study in Oklahoma revealed that 1 out of 5 kids between the ages of 6 and 12 can't tell time on an analog clock, and only 1 in 10 own a watch.

This makes sense in a time when most people use their cellphones as pocket watches or have digital watches. Kids will still need to be able to tell time on analog clocks even with modern technology. They're always going to be cheaper to own and easier to set, and lots of places we go every day still use them.
