As part of a project to widen Highway 90, the roadway will be reduced to one lane, eastbound, from Pinhook Road to University Avenue in Lafayette Parish. The closure will take place Friday, April 20 at 7 p.m. through Monday, April 23 at 6 a.m. Louisiana DOTD says motorists can expect delays and are encouraged to use an alternate route. The detour includes U.S. 90 Business (Pinhook Road) to La. 182 (Pinhook Road) to La. 89 (Southpark Road) to U.S. 90.  Permit loads will be restricted to a 12 foot width.

The work being performed during this closure is related to the $20 million project to widen U.S. 90 from four to six lanes from Pinhook to Broussard. Approximately 50,000 drivers a day travel on this portion of U.S. 90. Work on this 7.19-mile project began in late April 2010 and is estimated for completion by fall 2012.
