OMV (DMV) Now Takes Plastic

The only way to make the experience of going to the OMV (DMV for we oldsters) perfect is a few years away, when you'll be able to appear via hologram and not have to stand in line for hours for a three-minute process.

Until then, there is one change that will make your OMV experience a little more convenient: your credit or debit card is now welcome.

The Louisiana Department of Motor Vehicles is now equipped to accept debit and credit cards and e-cards, according to KATC. There is a slight fee for the service; $1.25 plus 1% of the total charged to debit and credit cards and a flat $1.00 convenience fee on all e-checks.
