We all know that using your cell phone while driving is not only dangerous, but it is illegal.  The same can be said of using a distracting device while piloting an aircraft.

An airplane crash in Colorado last year was, according to the National Transportation  Safety Board, likely caused by people taking "selfies" in the cockpit of the aircraft.

According to the report, the plane took off around midnight, and crashed just a few minutes later.  The NTSB found no mechanical problems with the aircraft, but they DID find a Go-Pro camera near the crash scene, and it contained videos that led them to their conclusion.
