The small Alabama town of Cordova was hit by an EF-3 tornado in the early morning hours of April 27th. An EF-4 hit the town that afternoon. The main street of the town was virtually leveled, and hundreds are now left homeless. Cordova Mayor Jack Scott has forbidden FEMA to bring in trailers to temporarily house storm victims. Scott cites a 3-year old ordinance banning single- wide trailers and is unwilling to budge on the issue, saying he doesn't want the town littered with runndown trailers in years to come.  Double-wides are allowed. The Police Department, a pharmacy, a bank, and City Hall are all currently housed in trailers.
