What's the most addictive foods in the world?  Is it sugar?  Candy?  Rice and gravy?  With 2 out of every 3 Americans overweight, this new study lists food that are more addictive than others, giving you the choice to avoid the ones that will make you go back for more.

The study was conducted by the University of Michigan.  The experts set out to find what foods command us to go back for more and which ones were least addictive making them easy to resist.

They found that the ten most addictive foods were:  Pizza, chocolate, chips, cookies, ice cream, french fries, cheeseburgers, soda, cake and cheese.  I'd say they hit the nail on the head.

The ten least addictive foods were found to be:  Cucumbers, carrots, beans, apples, brown rice, broccoli, bananas, salmon, corn and strawberries.  Makes you wonder why we aren't drawn to these foods like we are to those on the prior list.

The researchers found two things in common with most of the foods we crave.  They were processed and high in fat.  The study also suggests the reason pizza is number one is because of something called casein.  It's found in milk and is considered a protein.  When this protein breaks down in your stomach, it triggers the same parts of your brain as drugs do.

And that's why we get addicted to some foods while being able to only have one helping of others.
