New Iberia Motorcyclist Killed In Morning Crash

48-year-old Wade Renard of New Iberia died Monday morning after his motorcycle collided with a truck traveling north on LA 83 at US 90.

State Police say the driver of the truck, 34-year-old Diovigildo Salina-Salverez, began to make a left turn to enter the US 90 westbound on-ramp and was struck by Renard’s motorcycle. Renard died at the scene.

State Police say Salina-Salverez was wearing a seatbelt and suffered minor injuries.

Authorities do not suspect impairment to be a factor; however, standard toxicology tests are being analyzed by the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab and the crash remains under investigation.
