New Iberia Man Arrested For Bomb Threat
Yesterday afternoon just before 5:00 o'clock Iberia Parish deputies were called to the Wal-Mart on East Admiral Doyle after employees reported that a man had stated twice to employees that he had a bomb in his duffel bag.
The suspect then left the business riding a pink bicycle.
Sheriff Louis Ackal says 48-year-old Johnall Lanieu of 633 Louise Street was arrested for communicating false information of a planned arson.
Deputies say no explosives were found in the man's duffel bag.
He came into the store carrying a red and black duffel bag when he made the threats.
Deputies searched the area and found Lanieu met the description of the suspect described by store personnel.
