2010 Teurlings Catholic High School graduate and Lafayette native Airman Logan Thibodeaux currently serves aboard the U.S. Navy’s forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS George Washington, stationed at a U.S. Navy base located 35 miles south of Tokyo.

Airman Thibodeaux is an aviation electrician’s mate aboard the aircraft carrier. Operating out of Yokosuka, Japan,  George Washington visits numerous countries each year such as the Philippines, Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand.

Thibodeaux said he is proud to serve his country aboard an aircraft carrier in Japan.

'I really enjoy being stationed in Japan and the George Washington has given me the opportunity to live here,' said Thibodeaux.

Thibodeaux also said he is proud of the work he is doing as part of the Washington’s 3,300-member crew. 'I fix the electronic generators that supply power to the aircraft,' Thibodeaux explained.

George Washington’s sailors are continuously on watch throughout the Indo-Asia-Pacific region, serving as one of America’s first responders in the Navy’s largest area of responsibility.

Thibodeaux and other George Washington sailors know they are part of a forward-deployed team that is heavily relied upon to help protect and defend America across the world’s oceans. 'I am grateful for the GI benefits that serving in the Navy has provided me with,' said Thibodeaux.

We here at KTDY are grateful for Logan and all of our Acadiana men and women in uniform, and wish them well in their service!
