April 12th is National Licorice DayLicorice comes from the root of Glycyrrhiza Glabra found in southern Europe and parts of Asia.  The plant is a legume.

I have found folks either love the taste of licorice or hate it.  As a kid I disliked licorice but in my older years really enjoy the taste.  From mints to chunks, licorice is still a popular treat.

On National Licorice Day, the KTDY morning show with CJ and Debbie Ray will celebrate by giving away pounds and pounds of licorice from Candyland Cottage and Ice Cream shoppe in Rayne.

Do you like licorice?
