Mystic Krewe Of Apollo Exclusive Rehearsal And 38th Annual Bal Masque [VIDEOS AND PICS]

The Mystic Krewe Of Apollo De Lafayette's 38th Annual Bal Masque was held at the Cajundome Convention Center Saturday evening and as usual, it was a spectacular night of entertainment, excitement, and pageantry.  Like fine wine, this event gets better and better with age.  The venue was completely sold out!

As you read this article, preparations are already being made for next year's Apollo ball.  That's what make the Apollo ball such a spectacle.  Costumes take months to design, with most being worked on until just seconds before they hit the stage.  From ticket sales to seating from sound to lighting, it is an overwhelming undertaking for those who have chosen to take on the job, in addition to their regular real world jobs.

JayCee from 99.9 KTDY was the emcee for the event.  He and I were at rehearsal Friday night.  In honor of the Krewe's wishes, we did not publish any video or pics until now.  This year's theme was Apollo Comic Book.

Months of dance rehearsals, hundreds of thousands of dollars in feathers, and hundreds of hours in manpower paid off.  Apollo's 38 Annual Bal Masque was worth every cent spent on a ticket.

The night concluded with a huge dance party that filled the entire Convention Center with an elaborate light show.
