I have a "High Efficiency" washer & dryer combo. The purported advantage of this is reduced consumption of water, laundry detergent, and electricity. The washer uses ''special" detergent, but less of it. I've noticed the price has come down in the past year & it's more generally available.
Experts recommend doing your laundry at night, and early in the morning. You use less electricity that way, because your air conditioning doesn't have to work as hard. That all sounds great! There's only one problem. My brain isn't "High efficiency" at either end of the day. I put a load of towels in the washer Tuesday night and forgot all about them 'til Thursday night. This isn't the first such occurrence, or second, or third, or...
I'm apparently not alone. Friday morning, I posted the following status on my Facebook page.  ..."Ever do the same load of laundry twice because you left it in the washing machine too long?" Within three hours, nearly 60 people had clicked "Like" and 25 people commented. Barbara commented, "Hasn't Everyone. Mike said, "At least once a week." Kathie said, "Just this morning." Debbie commented, "Or just add more dishes to a dishwasher full of clean ones"....  Yeah, I've done that, too.
What household chore(s) do you sometimes end up doing twice?
