When I heard of Dick Clark's passing, I have to admit that I was upset.  When I first announced his death on the air, my voice quivered a bit.  I didn't know that I was going to react that way when he died; I think that my reaction is testament to how large an impact he had on my life.

When I was a kid, the ONLY way I could watch 'The $25,000 Pyramid' was if we were out of school (or if I was playing hooky!!)

In this 'Pyramid' clip from 1986, Dick Clark accidentally says "one of you will win a brand new 1968 automobile".  Maybe that is how he remained so 'young'; he kept thinking it was 20 years ago!!

Watching American Bandstand was a Saturday morning 'must' for me; after hearing the songs on the radio, Bandstand would give me a look at the performers. This is a clip of 'Bandstand' when ABBA was featured; I thought that I would get in trouble for watching because the ladies' outfits were so short!!

And, of course, Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve, first hosted by Dick Clark in 1973 (ringing in 1973).

Rest in peace, Dick Clark; thank you for the memories.
