We've all seen birthday invitations, but on Imgur I saw the most demanding birthday invite I have ever seen!

Some of the requests the note makes: requests for certain gifts; that gift-givers restrict the number of gifts they give; that they refrain from "personalized" gifts; that they include a receipt

Here's an excerpt from the letter:

I provided my mom and sister-in-law with a list of 4 other items that xxxx would like for his birthday so that they can buy from their list and avoid duplication.

I understand a note or email that lays out certain rules or important information, like an end time for the party, or reminders that Johnny Jr. is allergic to nuts, or that little Suzie still believes in Santa, but to be so specific about the gifts for a 1st birthday party seems a little too much.

If you are unable to get these items, please let us know so we can buy them right away for him.

Since this note appears to be going out to family members, maybe the family was aware that certain requests were going to be made for the kid's birthday presents.  The note also requests that people always include a receipt.

If you choose to get xxxx something that isn't on this list, anytime regardless of birthdays or holidays, please be sure to always include a receipt going forward.

Although I always try to get a gift receipt when I do buy someone a gift, do you think that this person is out of line for almost demanding one?

And while we are on the subject of gifts: do people put their kids on a "registry" like couples do for weddings?  I'm just curious.

I don't have kids, so maybe I am overreacting, but I have yet to see suggestions (read: demands) like these be made for a 1st birthday party!
