More Ways To Help In The Search For Missing UL Student Danielle Wright

The work continues to try to locate the missing crew of the schooner, the Nina.  It's been close to three months since the family and friends of UL Student Danielle Wright have heard from her.

There are several other passengers and crew members aboard the boat as well.

The family is still getting help from Texas Equusearch, the same group that helped in the search for UL student Mickey Shunick.

Donations are being accepted at local banks, and tonight at Deano's and tomorrow at Raising Cane's, you can get something to eat and help to raise money for the search.

Tonight, Tuesday, August 27th from 6-9 p.m. at both locations of Deano's Pizza in Lafayette, fifteen percent of proceeds that both restaurants make will be given to the search effort.

Tomorrow night, Wednesday, August 28th from 3-10 p.m. at the 6 locations of Raising Cane's in Acadiana, fifteen percent of proceeds that the restaurants make will be given to the search effort:

When you are ordering at Raising Cane's you must mention bringing home the Nina for the proceeds to go to the rescue fund.

In addition to these local dining options, there are still other ways to help.

Since there is still so much area to cover, the family is asking the public to help in the search.

Search efforts are now concentrated around a section of ocean near Australia, an area encompassing some 300,000 square miles.

The family of those missing are asking for your help through Tomnod.  You can actually look for the missing vessel by using your computer.

Hession tells KPEL someone did spot an orange life raft in the water about a week and a half ago.

If you can't help by searching, you can help by donating money to pay for planes, fuel and pilots.

The family of Wright has run into reluctance from the New Zealand government and the United States.  New Zealand doesn't have the funding to keep searching.
