Happy birthday to the board game Monopoly which turns 80 this year.  Hasbro is putting out a new version later this year where all the spaces on the board will be American cities.  This is not some new idea, they've done it before.  This time though, some of the changes are a bit odd.

They let people vote on which cities should be included, the city with the most votes would replace Boardwalk the most valuable spot on the board.  Receiving 4 million votes, the winner is...Pierre, South Dakota.  REALLY!?

The people of Pierre came together to make their city number one.  It's a nice place, but is it the most glamorous, most elite, most expensive city in America...no way!

The city that had the second highest number of votes was Minneapolis taking the Park Place spot on the board game.

Here are all the cities and their board colors, from most expensive to least.

Dark blue:  Pierre, South Dakota and Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Green:  New York . . . Virginia Beach and Los Angeles.

Yellow:  Chicago, Indianapolis and Charleston, South Carolina.

Red:  Detroit, Boston and Milwaukee.

Orange:  Cleveland, Asheville, North Carolina and Denver.

Magenta:  Atlanta, Little Rock and Seattle.

Light blue:  Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Charlotte and Dallas.

Brown:  Waconia, Minnesota and Chesapeake, Virginia.
