‘Miss Ella’ To Retire After 56 Years At Borden’s

Borden's Ice Cream Parlor on Johnston Street has been a Lafayette institution since 1940. Ella Mae Meaux has been part of the tradition for 56 years. When she went to work at the iconic place, ice cream cones were 5 cents a scoop. All good things come to an end. Miss Ella is retiring.
