From a homemade concoction using mayonnaise to have with our crawfish to chips and salsa at the local Mexican watering hole, here in Louisiana, we love our condiments.  But they are making us FAT.  This will help you understand just how bad your favorite condiment is for you.

Salsa may seem healthy because it's mostly vegetables, but one tablespoon has 5 calories.  Think about the last time you had salsa and chips, how many chips did you dip?  Keep in mind, it's very easy for each chip to have at least a teaspoon or more of salsa, plus, it's on a CHIP full of fat and salt.

Mustard is not too bad.  It is loaded with salt but people usually only have a little.  A tablespoon only has about 15 calories.

Relish has about 20 calories per tablespoon but has an exceptional amount of salt and sugar,

Soy sauce is such an awesome condiment when it comes to taste, but each tablespoon has a full gram of salt.  Event low salt soy sauce contains a lot.  The good news is, soy sauce only has about 10 calories per tablespoon.

Ketchup is loaded with salt and sugar and has about 20 calories per tablespoon.  Doesn't sound that bad right?  Ketchup gets a bad wrap, it's not the ketchup that's horrible for us, it's what we put ketchup on!  Try low sugar ketchup, you'll never know the difference.

And finally...mayonnaise.  The worst condiment ever right?  Regular mayo has 100 calories in one tablespoon!  And it's loaded with fat...LOADED!  Try a lite mayo instead.
