He’s a big-time singer with a big-time band and a big-time TV show. Now, Maroon 5‘s Adam Levine can see the day he’ll start to think beyond his career.

Levine, who serves as a judge and mentor on NBC’s ‘The Voice,’ says fatherhood is in his future. He told CNN’s Piers Morgan, “I want to start having kids, yeah. [But] not for seven or eight years!”

Levine, 32, seems to have diagrammed out his personal life, noting, “I’d love to be maybe considering the idea of having a family. And at [42], I’d love to have maybe a two-year-old.”

The singer is certainly eyeing the prospect of churning out some good lookin’ munchkins, since he’s currently dating Victoria’s Secret model Anne Vyalitsyna, who has appeared with him in Maroon 5′s videos for ‘Misery’ and ‘Never Gonna Leave This Bed.’

And just because Levine and Vyalitsyna are dating doesn’t mean they’re going to tie the knot. Levine said, “I don’t think that you necessarily have to be married to have children … Marriage is a controversial thing, clearly. I find that in a lot of ways, it doesn’t work. Then in some ways, it does.”
