Mariah Carey Plans to Release Album This Year

Brand-new mom Mariah Carey reportedly has plans to release a CD later this year, her husband, Nick Cannon, told the NY Daily News.

Carey reportedly worked on the album while she was still pregnant with twins Monroe and Moroccan.

"She's planning on having a record out this year," Cannon said. "She's been working away, and we have a studio in the crib, and the pregnancy has totally inspired her on so many different levels. You're definitely gonna see some new phenomenal music from Mariah."

Carey's last CD, 'Merry Christmas II You,' was released last year, and sold about 432,000 copies. She previously released 'Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel' in 2009.
