Man Involved In St. Landry Parish Crash Dies

Louisiana State Police investigated a crash on Wednesday, July 12 right before 9:30 that evening in which the driver's car ended up in the ditch.

The man, 19-year-old Phillip Peoples Jr. subsequently died as a result of the injuries he received in the crash.

He was not wearing a seat belt when he crashed his car.

State Police says that "impairment was not suspected to be a factor in the crash".

Investigators say they don't know why Peoples car went over the center lane, into the other lane of traffic and ultimately the ditch. They are still investigating.

This crash happened on Louisiana Highway 105 just south of Louisiana Highway 10.
