Man Facing Attempted Murder Charges After Lafayette Shooting

UPDATE: A man who is accused of shooting at his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend shot himself Saturday, and police say the man has died from his injuries.

Lafayette Police say at around 12:15 Saturday morning a neighbor called police after hearing gunshots in the 200 block of Merchants Blvd.

Police say 28-year-old Jonathan Redeaux of Jennings is alleged to have shot into the car of the two during an argument.

The two victims are in stable condition at a local hospital, while Redeaux is in critical condition after the Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff's Office says he shot himself at the intersection of Highways 383 and 101.

Redeaux, had he survived, would have faced two counts of attempted 1st degree murder.
