The teen accused in the death of an Arnaudville man on Philomine Street has turned himself in to police. 17-year-old Brian Harris is now behind bars after allegedly murdering 37-year-old John Paul Batiste in a shooting on Sunday.

The Lafayette Police Department was called out to investigate after a man was shot in the 100 block of Philomine Street.

The victim was found in the roadway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. This was around 5:15 Sunday afternoon.

The man was taken to a local hospital, and he died later in the evening.

Detectives say they have not yet identified a suspect in the case, but they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
