LSU announced Wednesday that they have adopted a new policy for Tiger Stadium when it comes to allowing bags into the venue.

The university announced that, "Only clear tote bags that are smaller than 12″ x 6″ x 12″ will be allowed inside the stadium and all other LSU sporting venues."

There will be exceptions to the rule when it comes to mother's carrying bags into the stadium. Some backpacks will be allowed into the stadium if it's for medical reasons. However, all other backpacks will NOT be allowed into LSU Tiger Stadium.

With recent violence escalating around Baton Rouge, and around the country for that matter, this is just another way to keep fans safe at sporting events. Most professional leagues and venues around the country have already adopted such a policy, allowing only clear bags into stadiums.

LSU's first home game this season is Saturday September 10th against Jacksonville State.
