#7 LSU's regular season finale at #22 Texas A&M turned into one for the record books.

Four hours and fifty three minutes of college football madness unfolded at Kyle Field on Saturday night. When it was all over, Texas A&M earned a 74-72 victory over LSU.

Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron got a gatorade bath with 30 seconds left in the 4th quarter when LSU safety Grant Delpit reeled in a game-sealing interception on a rushed pass by Aggies quarterback Kellen Mond.

Mond rushed the pass because he dropped the snap. As he bent down to pick up the ball, his knee grazed the grass, and after review, it was determined he was down, and the Aggies offense kept the ball.

A few plays later, A&M had 1 second left in regulation after spiking the ball with a split second left and not being properly penalized for illegal formation. With the gift, they converted a 19 yard touchdown and send the matchup into OT.

LSU was down 7 defensive starters due to injuries and a targeting ejection as the game wore on.

The Tiger defense had several opportunities to end the game, but came up short.

Each team exchanged field goals in the first OT, then touchdowns in the second OT.

By rule, once teams enter a 3OT, they must go for 2 following a touchdown.

Each squad exchanged a TD and successful 2 point conversion in the 3OT, then both settled for FGs in the 4OT.

Both squads scored a TD but missed 2 point conversions in the 5OT, and both made their 2 point attempts after scoring TDs in the 6OT.

LSU QB Joe Burrow ran for his 3rd rushing TD of the game in the first series of the 7OT, but came up a yard short on the 2 point attempt.'

The Aggies answered with a TD, and it appeared the game would head for an 8th overtime, but an official  threw a pass interference call no LSU cornerback Greedy Williams that has been widely criticized by sports media pundits everywhere. The ball was also thrown far out of bounds and appeared to be uncatchable.

Instead of going to an 8OT, A&M got another shot, and with it, converted the game-winning 2 point conversion to end an insane game.

It's a cruel way for LSU's 2018 regular season to end.

"We feel 1 second short of of winning 10 games," said LSU head coach Ed Orgeron after the game.

Although his team exceeded expectations this season, ending they ear with a 9-3 record likely sends the Tigers to an SEC group of 6 Bowl. A win would've put a 10-2 LSU squad in a New Year's select 6 Bowl.
