UPDATE: Detectives with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Department have made two arrests in the homicides of Ashley Metz and Brouklynn Hill.

32-year-old Joshua Willis  from Lafayette and 19-year-old Joseph Sylvester, also from Lafayette, La. have been arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

Both men have been booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.

UPDATE: The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office has identified the two victims whose bodies were found inside their burnt vehicles Tuesday morning.

In the vehicle found on Old Spanish Trail in Scott, the victim has been identified as 23-year-old Ashley Nicole Mentz.

In the vehicle found on Disett Road in Carencro, the victim is identified as 22-year-old Brooklyn Walter Hill.

UPDATE: Cpt. John Babin has confirmed the gender of the victims.

Babin reported that one victim was male, and the other female. The victims' identities have not been released.

Lafayette Parish Sheriff's deputies are investigating the discovery of two burnt vehicles--both with an unidentified body scorched inside.

Sheriff's spokesperson Capt. John Babin said detectives were notified at approximately 1:15 a.m. Tuesday that the Carencro Police Department was dispatched to a vehicle fire on the 100 block of Disette Road. An unidentified body was located inside after the fire was extinguished.

Then, at approximately 3:30 a.m., the Scott Fire Department was dispatched to a similar scene. Another vehicle was found in the 400 block of Old Spanish Trail. Another body was found in this burned vehicle as well.

Babin said detectives have yet to link the two incidents.

Neither, the victims, nor the vehicles, have been identified.
