Louisiana Senate Passes No Smoking Bill

The Louisiana Senate has approved a bill to ban smoking within 200 feet of an elementary or secondary school. The Times Picayune reports, Senate Bill 514, introduced by New Orleans senator David Heitmeir would include a $25.00 fine for a first offense, $50.00, for a second. Subsequent offenses would bring a fine of $100.00. The Senate vote was 36-0. The bill now goes to the house.
