Looking For A Job? Here’s Another Resource
I was picking up my Jeep from Acadiana Transmission this week when Joe Brown asked "know anyone who needs a job?". I remembered all of the recent posts I saw on Facebook lamenting about losing jobs and such, and I thought I'd share another resource.
Lafayette Economic Development Authority has a page with job listings all over Acadiana - outside sales, receptionist, accountant, web developer, motor coach operator - jobs of all different skill levels.
Joe Brown is in search of a service manager - someone to oversee most of the daily operations, including ordering parts, customer service, managing technicians in shop, giving estimates on repairs, etc. He said I would be perfect for the job: I'm good with people, I have a basic knowledge of automotive repair (parts, terminology, etc), and I am eager to work. I asked him if I would get to meet any superstars or get any free concert tickets: we both got a laugh out of that one!
I know that I am one of the lucky ones, as my job has been steady for several years. My heart breaks each time I see someone post about losing their job, and I just wanted to let people know that there are jobs out there!
